Staying connected in Shenzhen matters — you'll want mobile pay, maps and translation apps working everywhere. Here are your options, from zero-hassle eSIMs to local SIMs.

📡 Option 1: International eSIM (easiest, do it before flying)

Buy an eSIM for China before you travel from providers like Airalo, Holafly, Nomad or Saily. You scan a QR code, install the profile, and get data when you land — no passport registration, no shop visit. Prices are roughly US$10-30 for a week of data depending on provider.

Best for: short trips, simplicity, keeping your home number for calls/SMS.

📱 Option 2: Local SIM at Shenzhen airport or border

China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom sell visitor SIMs at Shenzhen Bao'an Airport arrivals and some border crossings. Bring your passport — registration is mandatory and takes a few minutes. A short-term data package is cheap (often under ¥100 for a week or two of data).
