Are Shenzhen bars expensive?
At hotel rooftop bars and world-class cocktail bars, a drink is around ¥90–180, still 20 to 30 per cent cheaper than Central bars in Hong Kong; at ordinary speakeasies or beer bars, a drink can be ¥40–70. These prices are approximate — the day's menu is what counts.
What are the dress requirements?
Most hotel bars ask for "smart casual" — no vests, shorts or flip-flops; ordinary speakeasies are more relaxed. If you want to hit hotel bars on a summer trip to Shenzhen, bring a light jacket or shirt to change into.
