Shenzhen's shopping mall offensive keeps coming wave after wave! Following the debut of Huaide MixC World, MixC Phase II, and Joy City in late 2025, even more new malls are opening in Shenzhen in 2026, many of them directly connected to the metro — giving Hong Kongers heading north several new hotspots for shopping, eating, and fun. Here are a few of the most noteworthy new malls:
🛍️ Luohu Maoye Tiandi — Just 5 Minutes from the Border
The most convenient location for Hong Kongers: only a 5-minute walk from Luohu Checkpoint, seamlessly connected to Shenzhen Metro Lines 1 and 9. The mall rises 10 storeys and combines shopping, dining, and entertainment, bringing in multiple Luohu-district "first stores," including Jinyi Cinema and indoor amusement park Kule Sports & Trendy Play Hall. The hotpot restaurant "Lao Xian Men," famous for its live-seafood fresh catch, is hugely popular — so you can grab a great meal while stocking up on your shopping haul.
🏬 Futian Hongling MixC World — A China Resources Creation
A new landmark operated by CR MixC Lifestyle, its striking red exterior design makes quite an impression, with shopping, dining, and entertainment all under one roof. Nearby, there's also "MixC Foodie World," so you can visit both malls in one trip — plenty to keep you busy for a whole day.
✨ Guomao SPRING · Guangming Li — Opened May 1
SPRING · Guangming Li in the Guomao area has already opened, targeting a young and trendy crowd. Nearby, ALIVAL New Sports Hub, DM Ganglong City, and others are also rolling out one after another, making the Luohu and Futian shopping districts increasingly diverse.
🌊 Xiaomeisha Waterfront Commercial — Full Vacation Vibes
Yantian District's Xiaomeisha now boasts its first waterfront-themed cultural tourism mall, bringing together upscale seafood dining. After shopping, you can head straight to the beach — perfect for Hong Kongers looking to escape the city and chill out for a day on their days off.
🎡 MINISO LAND — A Flagship Pilgrimage Site
MINISO's large-scale flagship concept store MINISO LAND has landed in Shenzhen, featuring a massive floor area and countless photo-worthy spots. It has quickly become the new favourite among young people heading north — if you love snapping photos, don't miss it.
Tips for Your Mall-Shopping Trip North
- Most new malls are directly accessible by metro: Maoye Tiandi (next to Luohu Checkpoint), Hongling MixC World (along the metro line). Before you set off, searching "mall name + metro" on Amap or Tencent Maps is the safest bet.
- New malls often offer opening promotions and group-buy vouchers in their early days — check Meituan or Dianping beforehand to save even more.
- Weekend crowds are massive; if you want a more comfortable shopping experience, consider going after work on a weekday or early Saturday morning.
