Tired of always going to Futian and Luohu? Try switching things up and heading to Nanshan's Shekou — this is Shenzhen's most "seaside resort feel" district: in recent years it's been anchored by the K11 ECOAST art mall landmark, with the all-white garden block Taizi Bay Garden City and the classic landmark Sea World right next door. Do a full loop of eating, shopping, playing and sea views all on one line — chill your way through a whole day.
Stop 1: K11 ECOAST — the "giant ship" art mall docked by the sea
K11 ECOAST is the first flagship project in mainland China for the K11 Group under Hong Kong's New World Development, located in Taizi Bay, Shekou, Nanshan, and began trial operations in April 2025. The entire project was designed by Dutch architecture firm OMA together with Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto's team and others; its exterior resembles a giant ship docked by the sea, with a total gross floor area of about 230,000 square metres — larger than Hong Kong's K11 MUSEA.

Stop 3: Sea World — the Minghua ship landmark plus seafood and bar street
Sea World is Shekou's most classic landmark: at its core is the retired cruise ship Minghua (now a restaurant and hotel), with the Sea World Culture and Arts Center, a musical fountain plaza and a whole seafood restaurant/bar street beside it — the atmosphere at night is especially good.
