Shenzhen Xiaoxiang Supermarket 2026 Review: Meituan's Futian Flagship Store, 50,000 sq ft with No Membership Fee, ¥10 Seafood Processing (with Top 10 Must-Buy Prices)

Shenzhen Xiaoxiang Supermarket 2026 Review: Meituan's Futian Flagship Store, 50,000 sq ft with No Membership Fee, ¥10 Seafood Processing (with Top 10 Must-Buy Prices)

Meituan's self-operated supermarket Xiaoxiang Supermarket (小象超市) opened its first flagship store in South China on August 28, located on B1 of Link CentralWalk in Futian, spanning about 50,000 sq ft with no membership fee. Seafood gets a dedicated "vitality steam" service for an extra ¥10, free steak pan-frying and durian-opening services, ¥9.9 SOE americano, plus an exclusive voucher for Hong Kong residents: pay HK$200 for ¥200. Includes the top 10 must-buys with prices, transport info, and how it differs from Sam's Club and Hema.

Hongkongers heading north to shop now have another option: Meituan's self-operated supermarket Xiaoxiang Supermarket (小象超市) officially opened on 28 August 2026 at B1 level of Link CentralWalk (領展中心城) in Futian, Shenzhen (the former Carrefour location). It is the first offline physical flagship store in South China, covering about 50,000 square feet, and focuses on "no membership fee" and "buy now, cook now", positioning itself as a direct rival to Hema Fresh.

The most important thing is the location: from Futian Checkpoint, it is only two stops on Line 4, with no need to specially transfer to a shuttle bus like going to Sam's Club.

1. Location, Transport and Opening Hours

  • Address: B1 level, Link CentralWalk, 3 Fuhua 1st Road, Futian District
  • Transport: Direct access from Exit B of Convention & Exhibition Center Station on Shenzhen Metro Line 1/4; from Futian Checkpoint it is only two stops on Line 4 (about 5 minutes); about a 5-minute walk from Futian High-Speed Railway Station
  • Opening hours: 10:00–22:00 (Friday to Sunday extended to 22:30)
  • Entry: No membership fee, and you can go in and buy without registering

2. Five Highlights: No Membership Fee + Catch and Cook

Highlight 1: Completely no membership fee. Sam's Club and Costco both require an annual membership fee first (different tiers, several hundred RMB per year), while Xiaoxiang Supermarket, like Hema, has no membership fee. This is most practical for the "quick-trip crowd" who head north only a few times a year.

Highlight 2: Add ¥10 for seafood to be prepared by a specialist. The seafood area has live black tiger prawns, swimming crabs, Boston lobster, king crab, June yellow crab and leopard coral grouper. After choosing, you can add ¥10 for a chef to cook it on the spot using "vitality steaming", with cleaning, gutting and steaming all in one service, ready to eat right after purchase.

Highlight 3: Free steak grilling and free durian opening. Staff will grill steak for you on the spot, and there are also specialists who will freely choose and open durian for you, removing the flesh and packing it. Monthong durian starts from a special price of ¥17.9/500g, and there are also Black Thorn and Musang King.

Highlight 4: Coffee worth drinking at ¥9.9. Next to the checkout is "Xiaoxiang Coffee", with Yunnan SOE americano at ¥9.9 a cup, plus freshly hand-shaken Da Hong Pao lemon tea, mango sticky rice smoothie and grape cheese craft brew.

Highlight 5: Bakery items baked fresh daily. Egg tarts are ¥9.9 for 4, and the durian mille-crepe cake is packed with fruit filling, all never left overnight. There is also a spacious dining area and a Gelato ice cream cabinet in the store.

4. Hongkonger Voucher: HK$200 Buys ¥200 (About 15% Off)

Link CentralWalk has launched a Hongkonger offer: use HK$200 to buy a Xiaoxiang Supermarket voucher with a face value of RMB 200, which works out to about 15% off at the exchange rate, with no minimum spend. The voucher is balance-based, so if you do not use it all, you can keep it for next time and it will not be zeroed out.

  • Second round on sale: 16 September to 24 September 2026 (deadline 23:59)
  • Redemption period: 25 September to 19 October 2026
  • Quota: 500 vouchers, limited to one per person
  • Collection point: During the redemption period, go to the Customer Service Centre on B1 level of Link CentralWalk

There are other opening-period offers too: a ¥69 opening lucky bag (8 selected products plus a Shenzhen-exclusive gift bag), and a lucky draw for first orders over ¥119 (100% winning, with the grand prize offering a chance to win a gift package of live king crab, snow crab or Boston lobster). Offers may end at any time; in-store notices prevail.

5. How Does It Compare with Sam's Club, Costco and Hema?

SupermarketMembership FeeBest For
Xiaoxiang Supermarket (Link CentralWalk)No membership feeGoing only once or twice, wanting ready-to-cook seafood, passing through Futian Checkpoint
Hema FreshNo membership feeWanting to eat seafood on the spot, near Nanshan/Futian branches
Sam's ClubAnnual fee requiredFamilies buying in bulk, purchasing large household items
CostcoAnnual fee requiredBuying half a year's worth in one go, Longhua direction

Simply put: if you just want to try a Shenzhen supermarket, pick up a few souvenirs and eat seafood, Xiaoxiang Supermarket with no membership fee is the best value; only if you are buying in bulk is it worth paying the annual fee for Sam's Club/Costco.

6. Nearby Itinerary Along the Way

Link CentralWalk itself is in Futian CBD: after leaving the supermarket you can walk to neighbouring Wongtee Plaza, and further on is COCO Park (Shopping Park Station), so one route can fill half a day. If you want to eat, there are already quite a few chain restaurants on the metro level of the mall.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to get there after crossing the border?

After crossing at Futian Checkpoint, take Metro Line 4 and get off at Convention & Exhibition Center Station. Exit B leads directly up to Link CentralWalk mall, and the supermarket is on B1. The whole journey is about 5 minutes.

Can I use Hong Kong electronic payments?

The mall and supermarket generally accept WeChat Pay and Alipay (including the Hong Kong version linked to Hong Kong cards), and some checkout counters can also take foreign cards. Before buying, note that some self-checkout machines only accept mainland wallets; if unsure, use the staffed checkout counter.

Can I bring seafood back to Hong Kong?

Seafood prepared on site is best eaten there. Fresh meat and poultry products are controlled items, and bringing them back to Hong Kong may result in confiscation by customs. Check the customs regulations clearly before you go.

Compared with Sam's Club, which is cheaper?

It differs by category: Sam's Club is usually cheaper for large-pack household goods, while Xiaoxiang has the advantage in live seafood and freshly made bakery items. It is best to buy a little to try first rather than stocking up in bulk right away.

Practical Tips

  • After 4pm, the seafood and bakery areas are restocked, so choose this time slot if you want the best items
  • Seafood for preparation takes 15 to 20 minutes to wait for, so you can place the order first and then go browse other areas
  • Weekend afternoons are the busiest, with checkout queues of about 15 minutes
  • The supermarket is on B1, and the mall has direct elevators, so even a trolley is no problem

The prices and offers in this article are compiled from media reports from 28 August to 16 September 2026 (HK01, Sing Tao, U Travel) and information published by the store; prices, offers and opening hours are subject to the latest in-store and official announcements.
