Shenzhen's Halloween headlines always go to the big theme parks, but if you would rather skip the queues for haunted houses, the city's restaurants and bars put on just as much of a show: dessert shops release ghoulish character cakes, bakeries run licensed seasonal specials, gastro-bars throw costume parties and nightclubs add Halloween club nights. This guide covers the food-and-drink side of the 31 October 2026 window, with 10 real venues across Luohu, Futian and Nanshan (Shekou and Shenzhen Bay). Every entry lists the address, the metro line, station and exit, the price level and what the venue actually does for Halloween.
One thing to get straight first: this article does not cover theme-park tickets or haunted-house ratings. Happy Valley's Halloween event and the city-wide Halloween round-up are separate articles - see the links at the end. Here we only talk about eating and drinking: which places sell Halloween-shaped food, which ones run themed set menus, and which ones are best for turning up in costume.
Halloween 2026 in Shenzhen: when are restaurant and bar events announced?
The pattern is consistent: announcements start in mid-October, peak after 25 October, and most runs end on the night of 31 October, with a few extending to 1 November. There are three categories to watch:
- Dessert shops and bakeries: limited-edition shaped items (pumpkins, skulls, ghosts, mummies). Some need advance booking or a queue, sell out fast, and cost roughly the same as their regular items.
- Gastro-bars: Halloween set menus, costume discounts and free shots. Most take reservations, and on 31 October you should book ahead.
- Livehouses and nightclubs: dedicated Halloween theme nights with tickets or minimum spends, plus bag checks on the door.
All prices and details below were checked on 12 October 2026. Venues update their Halloween plans progressively, so check the official WeChat account or mini-programme the night before you go. Where a venue has not announced anything yet, we say so and describe what it did in previous years instead.
Luohu district (3 venues): one or two metro stops from the border
1. L'ECLAIR DE GENIE (MixC Luohu): ghoulish eclair sets
The French eclair specialist founded by pastry chef Christophe Adam, known in Chinese as Shandian Bali, entered mainland China in 2018 and its Shenzhen shop in the MixC mall was the brand's first in South China. Its Halloween speciality is a themed eclair set: mini pumpkins, skulls and mummies in vanilla, yuzu, strawberry and caramel. A box of small eclairs photographs very well.
- Address: MixC Shenzhen (Phase 1), 1881 Bao'an South Road, Luohu District
- Getting there: Metro Line 1/2, Grand Theatre station Exit C, with a direct mall link; two stops from Luohu Port on Line 1
- Price: about ¥53 per person (Dianping, checked October 2026); single eclairs are typically ¥30-50 and gift boxes cost more
- Halloween: in 2024 the shop sold a themed set with pumpkin, skull and mummy shapes (source: Nanfang Plus, 31 October 2024). The 2026 designs, prices and dates are up to the store
2. Mon Cheri (MixC Luohu, B1): jack-o'-lantern cake
Mon Cheri, the Japanese dessert brand also known as Mvuke Tokyo, opened inside the MixC's basement level, a minute from the metro exit. For Halloween it has made a jack-o'-lantern cake: steamed pumpkin pureed with fresh milk into a custard cream, finished with pure cocoa-butter chocolate. It is festive without being sickly sweet.
- Address: Shop KM07, B1, MixC Shenzhen Phase 1, 1881 Bao'an South Road, Luohu District
- Getting there: Metro Line 1/2, Grand Theatre station, about a 60-metre walk from the exit
- Price: about ¥133 per person according to travel-platform user data; individual cakes are usually ¥50-80 and whole celebration cakes start around ¥200
- Halloween: in 2024 the store ran the jack-o'-lantern cake (source: Nanfang Plus). Seasonal items usually appear from mid-October to 31 October while stock lasts
3. ARENA Night Club (Guomao, Luohu): the club right by the border
Luohu's Guomao area is home to one of the city's biggest electronic-music clubs. ARENA took over the long-running Lechao space and rebuilt it with a vast Las Vegas-style room and indoor-festival lighting, reportedly about 3,000 square metres with a party hall, dance floor, bar, tables and private rooms. Because it sits on Renmin South Road, it is the easiest of the three districts to reach on impulse after dinner.
- Address: Zone A, 1/F, International Trade Centre Building, 3004 Renmin South Road, Luohu District
- Getting there: Metro Line 1, Guomao station Exit A, a few minutes on foot; about three stops from Luohu Port
- Hours: roughly 21:00 to 04:00 (booking-platform data; peak nights can vary)
- Price: sold by table package - booking-platform packages start at about ¥1,380 and run to about ¥3,880, including spirits, mixers and setup, shared between several people. Standalone tables pay by drinks. Space is tight, so book ahead and confirm the minimum spend
- Halloween: the city's big clubs customarily add a Halloween electronic night in late October with costumes, themed DJs and free shots. For 2026, dates, guests and table prices will be announced by the venue
Futian district (3 venues): COCO Park and Huaqiangbei
4. Holiland (COCO Park, Futian): licensed seasonal specials
Holiland, famous across mainland China for its half-baked cheesecake, opened its first South China store in the basement of Futian's Xinghe COCO Park on 24 December 2024. It took RMB 1.2 million in revenue on its first day of soft opening and is still a must-stop for Hong Kong shoppers. The brand specialises in licensed collaborations, and Halloween is one of its biggest moments: in 2023 it released two Hello Kitty Halloween specials, followed by Harry Potter and other tie-ins.
- Address: Shop B1C-087, Phase 1 B1 (north basement), Xinghe COCO Park, 268 Fuhua Third Road, Futian District
- Getting there: Metro Line 1/3, Shopping Park station Exit C (Exit G leads straight into the mall), about 30 metres from the metro entrance
- Hours: 10:00-22:00
- Price: about ¥45 per person (Dianping); a box of the signature half-baked cheesecake is around ¥39, and Shenzhen-exclusive items cost roughly ¥13-25 each
- Halloween: seasonal breads, cakes and licensed gift boxes usually go on sale from mid-October to 31 October, often with a queue. The 2026 designs and dates will be announced on the brand's official Weibo and WeChat
5. COMMUNE X (COCO Park, Futian): all-day gastro-bar
COMMUNE is one of mainland China's largest gastro-bar chains, with more than a hundred company-owned venues, and the COCO Park branch is a flagship location. By day it serves brunch, Neapolitan pizza, burgers, pasta and steak with coffee and tea; after dark the lighting shifts and it becomes a bar with craft beer, cocktails, wine and whisky. Eating and drinking without changing venue makes it the most practical Halloween stop of the night.
- Address: L1, Xinghe COCO Park, 268 Fuhua Third Road, Futian District
- Getting there: Metro Line 1/3, Shopping Park station Exit C, directly inside the mall
- Price: about ¥41-100 per person (OpenRice Greater Bay Area); roughly ¥57 on Meituan, with a signature set for two at about ¥149 and group drinks packages at about ¥290
- Halloween: gastro-bars of this type usually launch Halloween set menus and costume offers in late October, often with a small gift or shot for guests in costume. Book well ahead for 31 October; 2026 details are up to the venue
6. Xiang Livehouse (Huaqiangbei, Futian): a venue that really did run a Halloween special
Xiang is one of Shenzhen's hottest livehouses. Founded in Xiamen in 2019, its Shenzhen branch occupies the eighth floor of the Zhongdian Plaza tower in Huaqiangbei and sells the idea of "one drink, one concert": resident singers, bands and DJs rotate through the night, with tables and bar seating. Crucially for this guide, it genuinely programmes Halloween: in 2024 the venue ran a two-night Halloween special on 31 October and 1 November with themed staging and performances.
- Address: 8/F, Zhongdian Plaza, 2070 Shennan Middle Road, Huaqiangbei, Futian District
- Getting there: Metro Line 2/7, Huaqiangbei station, about a five to eight minute walk
- Hours: from about 19:30 until late, depending on the night's line-up
- Price: about ¥200 per person according to map-platform and venue-visit data, depending on how much you drink; tables and packages are priced separately, so confirm the minimum spend when booking
- Halloween: the 2024 two-night Halloween special was promoted on the venue's official account (source: Xiang Livehouse Shenzhen official Douyin, 28-29 October 2024). The 2026 programme has not been announced yet
Nanshan district (4 venues): Shekou, Sea World and Shenzhen Bay
7. G&G Creative Community (Shekou): costume party plus food and drink market
G&G Creative Community in Shekou, converted from 1980s glass factory buildings, holds cafes, bars, markets, exhibitions and sports courts. It is one of the few food-and-drink clusters in Shenzhen that genuinely runs a Halloween event every year: in 2024 it held a "dress up as ghosts" community party on 1 November with free entry, and in 2025 it moved to a costume party starting at 18:00 on 31 October across the whole site, with a DJ stage, hidden stall interactions, NPC missions and a best-dressed prize, alongside music, food and wine. From 2025 the party became a ticketed (paid) event.
- Address: 9 Liyuan Road, Shekou, Nanshan District
- Getting there: Metro Line 12, Huaguoshan station Exit A, as listed by the organisers; the Line 12 Shuiwan station Exit D is also a short walk away
- Price: the site itself is free to enter; the 2024 party was free and the 2025 edition was paid, with catering priced by the individual stalls
- Halloween: a costume party with food, wine and a market - the closest thing to a street party of the ten entries, and the best pick for photos with friends. Dates and charges for 2026 will come from G&G
8. COMMUNE MUSEUM (Sea World Culture and Arts Center): a gastro-bar facing the sea
The 100th COMMUNE venue and the brand's upgraded flagship opened at the Sea World Culture and Arts Center in Nanshan in January 2024, at the building's east gate facing the water. It runs the same all-day gastro-bar format as the COCO Park branch but at flagship level, with sea-view seating, craft beer, western food and cocktails. The backdrop is Shenzhen Bay and the Sea World waterfront, which beats most indoor bars for photographs.
- Address: Unit 105, Sea World Culture and Arts Center Plaza, 1187 Wanghai Road, Shuiwan, Shekou, Nanshan District (east gate)
- Getting there: Metro Line 2/12, Sea World station, a short walk; about 15-20 minutes by car from Shenzhen Bay Port
- Hours: roughly 08:00-03:00 (travel-platform data)
- Price: about ¥113 per person (Dianping, ranked first for western food in Sea World); craft beer around ¥40-70 a glass and cocktails about ¥60-90
- Halloween: waterfront gastro-bars typically add Halloween snacks and a seasonal cocktail, with perks for guests in costume. Confirm the 2026 details with the venue
9. The Terrace (Sea World Plaza, 2/F): a 20-year-old live-music bar
The Sea World bar street in Shekou is where Shenzhen's bar culture began, with the city's first bar opening on Taizi Road in 1987. The Terrace has traded since 2005 and bills itself as one of the biggest bars in Shenzhen, set in the round building on the second floor of Sea World Plaza with an outdoor terrace, a small stage and live bands, mostly expat, plus DJs. It is a long-standing Shekou hangout for the international community and Hong Kong visitors, and on Halloween the combination of terrace, live music and a crowd in costume does the work for you.
- Address: 2/F, Sea World Plaza, 32 Taizi Road, Nanshan District (near the Nanhai Hotel; the official site lists "Sea World Plaza, second floor")
- Getting there: Metro Line 2/12, Sea World station, a few minutes on foot; about 15 minutes by car from Shenzhen Bay Port
- Hours: roughly 11:30 to 02:30
- Price: about ¥117 per person (Dianping) to ¥143 (local listing sites); there is a minimum spend, drinks run about ¥50-90, so confirm when you book
- Halloween: the Sea World bar street draws costumed crowds every 31 October and The Terrace customarily adds a themed music night. Check with the venue for 2026
10. KUMO KUMO (Shenzhen Bay MixC): the ¥39 cheesecake with a Halloween twist
KUMO KUMO, the hand-made cheesecake brand that started in Shanghai, bakes and sells on the spot. Its official mini-programme lists cakes from ¥19.9 to ¥59, with the ¥39 original cheesecake the best seller. Every Halloween the brand releases a shaped item: in 2024 it was a chestnut Mont Blanc cheesecake ice cream wearing a little ghost and pumpkin outfit - chestnut puree over cheesecake, and highly photogenic. The Shenzhen Bay MixC branch sits in the Houhai area of Nanshan.
- Address: Shop T17-18, Bay Market, Shenzhen Bay MixC, 2888 Keyuan South Road, Nanshan District (official store list). A second branch is at Shop KM04, B1, MixC Luohu Phase 1
- Getting there: Metro Line 2/8/11/13, Houhai station Exit L, connected to the mall
- Price: cakes ¥19.9-59 on the official mini-programme, with the signature original cheesecake at ¥39; roughly ¥40 per person
- Halloween: in 2024 the brand released a Halloween-shaped chestnut Mont Blanc cheesecake ice cream (source: Nanfang Plus). Seasonal items are usually limited to mid-October through 31 October while stock lasts

Routes from each port, and practical Halloween tips
- From Luohu Port: Line 1 to Grand Theatre Exit C for desserts (L'ECLAIR DE GENIE, Mon Cheri), then back to Guomao for ARENA at night. No changes needed.
- From Futian Port: Line 4 to Convention and Exhibition Center, change to Line 1 for Shopping Park and COCO Park (Holiland, COMMUNE X), then Line 2/7 to Huaqiangbei for Xiang Livehouse. Futian Port closes at 22:30, so leave slack if you are staying out late.
- From Shenzhen Bay Port: Line 13 or a taxi into Nanshan for G&G Creative Community first, walk on to Sea World (COMMUNE MUSEUM, The Terrace), then Line 2/8/11/13 to Houhai if you want the cheesecake at Shenzhen Bay MixC.
- Getting home: Shenzhen's metro generally stops running around 23:00, so after midnight the only reliable crossing back is Huanggang (Lok Ma Chau), open 24 hours. A taxi from Shekou takes about 40-50 minutes, so book 15 minutes early.
Other tips: late-October nights in Shenzhen run about 20-25C, so bring a light layer over your costume; almost everywhere takes WeChat Pay or Alipay, and Hong Kong wallets linked to Hong Kong cards work fine; leave fake weapons, staffs and spray cans at home because malls and clubs run bag checks; keep your Home Return Permit on you rather than in a bag at the bar; and since 31 October is the busiest night of the year, book dessert orders and bar tables before 25 October.
FAQ
When do Shenzhen restaurants and bars announce their Halloween 2026 plans?
Announcements usually begin in mid-October and peak after 25 October, with most runs finishing on the night of 31 October. Follow each venue's official WeChat account or mini-programme, and search "Halloween limited" on Dianping or Xiaohongshu. Some of the events described here are what venues did in previous years; for 2026, prices, products and dates are always subject to the official announcement.
What is the best route on Halloween night if I want dinner and then a bar?
Luohu: desserts at the MixC, then ARENA at Guomao. Futian: pick up the seasonal special at Holiland and eat at COMMUNE X in COCO Park, then head to Xiang Livehouse in Huaqiangbei. Nanshan: the costume party at G&G Creative Community, then drinks at The Terrace or COMMUNE MUSEUM in Sea World. Remember the metro stops around 23:00, after which you will need a taxi, and most late trips home go through Huanggang Port.
Is there anything to do if I do not drink alcohol?
Plenty. L'ECLAIR DE GENIE, Mon Cheri, KUMO KUMO and Holiland are all desserts and bakery, with no alcohol involved. Both COMMUNE branches and The Terrace serve non-alcoholic drinks and western food, so you can still enjoy the atmosphere.
Do I have to wear a costume, and are there rules?
A costume is not required, but it usually earns a discount or a small gift. What matters is what you cannot bring: fake weapons, staffs, spray paint and glass props are not allowed, and malls and clubs do run bag checks. Clubs charge a minimum spend, so confirm it on the door, and note that hotels and upmarket gastro-bars usually expect smart casual, so ask first if your costume is elaborate.
How much should I budget for the night?
A dessert-and-coffee route runs about ¥40-130 per person. Gastro-bars such as COMMUNE and The Terrace run about ¥57-150. Livehouses and clubs start around ¥200 per person, or you can take a table package (ARENA's booking-platform packages start at about ¥1,380, shared between several people). All figures are indicative and subject to the day's menu, bar list and booking quote.
