For clothes and shoe shopping in Shenzhen, outlets are the most practical choice — the same pair of Nike sneakers can cost half the retail store price at an outlet. But Shenzhen has five or six outlets, and without doing your homework you'll end up in the wrong place. This guide organises 5 verified outlets by "how far from the border crossing" and "which type of goods is cheapest".
One-line guide: For a quick trip go to Luohu Maoye Outlet (Laostreet Station, 190 metres); For sportswear go to Longhua 8 Outlet (Nike: spend ¥600, get ¥100 off); For photos go to Dameisha 8 Outlet (European-style outdoor village).

Which of the three ports to choose?
| Port | Most convenient outlet | Route |
|---|---|---|
| Luohu Port | Maoye Outlet | After clearing customs, transfer to Metro Line 1, Laostreet Station Exit G, 190 metres — done in one stop |
| Futian Port | Longhua 8 Outlet, Huasheng Outlet | Line 10 runs directly from Futian Port, get off at Guangyayuan Station/Huanan Station, no interchange needed |
| Shenzhen Bay Port | Western (Shanshan Outlet) | There is no large outlet in Nanshan District; from Shenzhen Bay Port take Line 13, or take a taxi directly to Bao'an Songgang (journey about 40 minutes) |
If you cross at Shenzhen Bay Port and want to shop for Nike/Adidas, it's actually smoother to take Line 13 into the city then transfer to Line 6 to Xitou; if you don't want to change lines, just take a taxi straight there.
FAQ
When is the cheapest time to go?
Outlets have discounts all year round, but the biggest discounts are during seasonal changes (March to April, September to October) and around "May Day" and "National Day", when some brands offer extra discounts on top of discounts; going on weekdays means fewer crowds and no queuing to try on clothes.
Is outlet stock old-season?
Mostly last-season stock or goods cleared from retail stores, with incomplete sizes. Go early if you want popular styles; sizes usually run out by the end of the month.
Can I return or exchange goods?
Most outlet merchants accept exchanges within 7 days but not refunds, and you must keep the receipt and tags; ask clearly before buying.
Can I use Hong Kong payment methods?
Large outlet merchants generally accept WeChat Pay and Alipay (the Hong Kong version linked to a Hong Kong card works too), and also accept foreign cards; small shops may only accept mainland wallets.
Practical tips
- First check which floor your target brands are on — don't wander floor by floor; you can't finish 80,000 square metres in a day
- Dameisha 8 Outlet has many open-air spots, so remember to bring a hat and water
- Longhua 8 Outlet and Huasheng Outlet are both on Line 10, so you can visit two centres in one day
- Always try on shoes: outlet sizing runs off, and it's a hassle once you're back in Hong Kong
The discounts and prices in this article are compiled from media reports by HK01, Yahoo News and other outlets between June and September 2026, as well as public mall information. They refer to past promotional prices; the actual price on the day at the merchant shall prevail.
